Banca di Bologna Headquarters
Piazza Galvani 4
The bank headquarters in Piazza Galvani 4, host a solo show of Elia Cantori (b. 1984, Italy). In a room on the ground floor with a view on the square, Cantori is showing two aluminum sculptures from his series Untitled (1:1 Map) (2016) and some new photograms—direct impressions on photographic paper, unmediated by a camera lens—from his series Dead Constellation. Together, these photograms and sculptures weave a discourse about the limitations (and allure) of cartographic representation. The exhibition will open to the public on February 2 at 6:00 PM in the Banca di Bologna headquarters in Piazza Galvani 4, and will run until March 4.
Banca di Bologna Hall of Palazzo De’ Toschi
Piazza Minghetti 4/D
Entirely made up of new pieces created specifically for the occasion, the exhibition is the first solo show in Italy by New York-based artist Erin Shirreff (born 1975 in Canada). It offers Italian viewers their first major opportunity to experience the work of an artist who, in her early forties, can already be found in the collections of prestigious international museum. The exhibition will open to the public on February 2 at 6:30 PM in the Banca di Bologna Hall of Palazzo De’ Toschi, and will run until March 4. This solo show by Erin Shirreff is one of ten events chosen for the Art City cultural program, a joint initiative in which the Bologna City Council and BolognaFiere have selected a calendar of high-profile curatorial events to complement Arte Fiera.
